Free The Nipple

Back in 2012 The Unrealists foreshadowed the hashtag that populates angsty celebrities’ social media  captions. The group of then 5 gathered their peers to partake in The Nipple Exhibition where people of all genders stood in a room covered in black from head to toe with only the nipples cut out to show. Conversation about equality struck the room as silent whispers. No music played, dim lights lit the mood, and there was just enough seating for 6.

The artists’ goal was to show equality as people who are no more than what they have in common.

This performance took place on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 in Savannah, GA. It was one of the most important performance art shows lost on its locals.
